Madden NFL 21 was launched on August 28, 2020 for current-gen consoles, the PlayStation 4 (and Xbox One) and Xbox One, respectively. The new version of the game was released on December 4, 2020 together with the Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft's Xbox Series X/S consoles. Madden previously released Madden games on August 2nd, 2019 (Madden 20,) and on August 10, 2018, (Madden 19,). The next installment in the Madden franchise may be released as early as August 2021. Gamers were eligible for a Dual Entitlement promotion in conjunction with Madden 21. Players who purchased the game with current-gen consoles were eligible for a dual Entitlement promo. The promotion allowed them to upgrade to the next-gen version at no cost. The Madden NFL 22 release date is still unknown.
