There is an emphasis on computation and application of skills, which is helpful with standardized testing and retention of the concepts learned. There are great supplementary video options. Nicole the Math Lady does a fantastic job of teaching new concepts and the Saxon Teacher CDs contain explanations for how to work out every math problem in the course.
